Lite-Med Inc. was founded in 1991 for responding to the Taiwan Government’s policy to advance the homemade medical equipment industry. Supported with the integration of the world’s modern electronic, mechanical, computer and automation techniques in Taiwan, Lite-Med successfully developed a high-tech medical device for the treatment of patients with kidney and ureter stones.
This pioneer development has been approved to enter the market by TFD A since 2005. Lite-Med’s dual module localization Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripter (ESWL) consists of subsystems like a high efficiency, painless, no anesthesia needed shock wave generator, a dual-module auto stone localization system, and a ultrasound stone tracking & locking system.
Utilizing the special functions provided with the above subsystems, Lite-Med’s Lithotripter can reduce the sideeffects of hematuria / hematoma / renal function, minimize radiation damage, increase the stone-hitting efficiency & patient safety, and improve the stone treatment quality.
Basing on the same shock wave technology, Lite-Med also developed an Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) unit. With ease of operation, simple localization, friendly user interface, and high mobility, it can effectively treat frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, and other bone, tendon, ligament related diseases. In the near future, the application of shock wave technology can be expanded into treatment of other diseases and fields such as vascular obstruction, cancer treatment, cosmetic surgery, and nervous system diseases, etc. |
